Puppet warp has been added to the Move / Transform tool in Simple Mode.
You can now create simple animations in Simple Mode. Select Create animation from the menu to start.
Blending quality has been added to Ink in the Sub Tool Detail palette for brush tools. Setting this to High quality results in smoother blending than before when the Color mixing mode is Running color.
Colors outside the selection area will no longer be mixed when drawing with the Blur sub tool in the Blend tool inside a selection.

(iPad / Android) Show predicted stroke in Preferences > Tool has been renamed to Show stroke preview to reduce brush lag. A smooth predicted stroke will be displayed even when drawing with a finger.
Display settings has been added to Preferences > Tool. You can select the conditions under which the stroke preview is shown. When set to Automatic, the stroke preview will appear when the brush size is small and the Stabilization is high.
The Speed and Quality setting has been added to the Anti-aliasing category in the Tool Property palette and the Sub Tool Detail palette for brush tools. This allows for faster rendering with a slightly blurred image quality.
Drawing speed has been increased for brush tools that have Watercolor edge turned on in the Sub Tool Detail palette.
When using Convert to lines and tones > 3D Lines, you can now choose a Mode. Selecting Standard will extract lines that are more faithful to the 3D rendering than previous versions. Select Compatible with Ver. 4.1 and earlier to extract lines as in previous versions. (EX)
The Fill tool is now more responsive and produces more accurate results than before.
Increased processing speed for layers that have Border effect > Watercolor edge turned on as an Effect in the Layer Property palette.
When you import a gltf format file or a PBR material in FBX or OBJ format, material parameters such as metallic feel and glossiness are reflected, enabling realistic textures to be expressed on 3D layers. This allows for importing 3D models with color textures and normal maps that were not previously supported.
You can now automatically install materials to the corresponding palette when you download them from Clip Studio Assets. Auto-install settings has been added to the Material palette menu. You can configure auto-install settings for each material type. You can also change the settings from the Sub Tool, Color Set, and Auto Action palette menus, as well as the Gradient Set dialog, Edit gradient dialog, and Window menu > Workspace.
Export layer comps has been added to the Batch export dialog, which appears when you select File menu > Export multiple pages > Batch export. You can set the layer comps to be applied when exporting multiple pages. Layer comp settings made here apply to all pages exported at once.
Apply layer comps has been added to the Story menu. You can apply a single layer comp to multiple pages.
Color profile has been added to the New dialog. You can also change the Color profile settings in the Canvas Properties, Change page settings, and Change project settings dialogs. For EX, the setting can also be changed in the Add Page (Advanced) dialog.
In the Color profile preview dialog, accessed from the View menu > Color profile > Preview settings, Profile to preview has been renamed to Working profile. Additionally, separators have been added to the Working profile dropdown menu to make the RGB and CMYK categories clearer.
The following updates have been made.

When dragging parts of a 3D character or 3D drawing figure into a pose that significantly bends the upper body, such as bending forward or backward, the waist now bends along with it.
When tilting the upper body of a 3D character imported from a VRM file left or right, the legs no longer move up and down.
The order of the screens shown at first startup has been changed.
Screens related to license authentication at startup and plan sign-up screens have been updated to a new interface.

(Android) Now supports detection of pen tilt. In the Tool Property or Sub Tool Detail palette > Angle setting, tap Dynamics and set it to Pen tilt to change the angle of the brush tip as the pen is tilted.
When a 3D character or 3D object is selected with the Object sub tool, unavailable presets are no longer displayed in the Object Launcher and Sub Tool Detail palette. If they are displayed, they are now marked as unavailable.
Dragging and dropping a 3D material now creates a new 3D layer with the material added at the drop position, even when a perspective ruler is displayed on the canvas.
A limit has been set so that when zooming out on a 3D layer using pinch-out or mouse operations, you cannot move infinitely far from the focal point.
When saving a canvas containing a 3D layer, only the settings for the selected type of Ambient light are now reflected when saving and loading Clip Studio format (extension: clip) files.
If a 3D head model attached as a sub-object to a 3D drawing figure, the attachment point is automatically set to Head in the Object list in the Tool Property or Sub Tool Detail palette.
The sensitivity when zooming in and out on 3D layers using touch gestures has been adjusted.
In the Material palette, the forbidden icon for unusable materials will always appear regardless of mouse operations.
When hovering over an unusable material in the Material palette, an icon to go to the material's Clip Studio Assets page will appear.
When moving a drawing within a selection using the Move layer sub tool, a waiting cursor will now appear if the process is taking time.
When using the Edit menu > Transform commands, if it takes time, a waiting cursor or a progress bar will now appear if the process is taking time.
When importing an image with an embedded CMYK color profile, it is now displayed with the color profile preview turned off.
Color profile previews are now applied by default when importing Clip Studio format files (extension: .clip) or image files with embedded RGB color profiles. In Simple Mode and DEBUT, color profile previews are always applied. Note that in DEBUT, you cannot disable the preview or change the color profile.
(iPad / iPhone / Android) Preferences and Help in the Simple Mode menu has been split into two sections: Preferences and Help. Keyboard Shortcuts from Preferences and Help has been moved to Preferences.
(iPad / iPhone) Wacom Stylus Pen has been removed from the Clip Studio Paint menu or App Settings menu.
(iPad / Android) On tablets, some tutorial headings in Simple Mode have been changed.
(iPad / Android) In Preferences > Cursor, if Delay for stabilization is selected for Display position of reversed cursor (Brush-size/Sight/Single pixel dot), and Show stroke preview to reduce brush lag in Preferences > Tool is turned on, the inverted cursor will not be delayed when the stroke preview is displayed.
(iPhone) On devices with a keyboard connected, the display of the Cut, Copy, and Paste buttons at the bottom of the screen now updates even when selecting text using the keyboard.
(macOS) Ver. 1.5 compatible 3D materials can no longer be imported.
Selection of multiple 3D objects is now maintained after selecting and duplicating multiple 3D objects on a 3D layer.
Clip Studio Paint can now be closed without issues even if the Color settings dialog is open on a canvas containing a 3D layer.
Anti-aliasing on border effect can now be set when applying Border effect > Edge in the Layer Property palette even after the layer's Expression color is changed in a specific order.
When painting on 3D primitives or 3D drawing figures on a large canvas, the appearance of previous strokes is no longer disrupted if the strokes overlap.
When a 3D drawing figure or 3D character material is selected and the manipulator is visible, turning the Manga Perspective setting on or off in the Tool Property or Sub Tool Detail palettes now updates the manipulator's position according to the perspective.
The manipulators for some parts are now displayed correctly when a 3D drawing figure or 3D character material is selected, the manipulator is visible, and Manga Perspective is turned on in the Tool Property or Sub Tool Detail palettes.
Immediately after adding a sub tool by selecting Add from default from the Sub Tool palette menu, the sub tool selected in the Sub Tool palette and the sub tool used on the canvas now match.
Even if the Angle settings for a brush tool are copied to another sub tool using the Copy values items in the Sub Tool Detail palette, the number of settings in Angle Dynamics for the destination sub tool no longer changes.
When a brush shape with Angle settings is registered as a preset in the Brush shape category of the Sub Tool Detail palette, applying that brush shape to another sub tool no longer changes the number of settings for that sub tool's Angle Dynamics.
The drawing result is now rendered correctly when drawing with a large brush that has Anti-overflow > Do not cross lines of reference layer turned on in the Sub Tool Detail palette.
On 3D layers set to cast shadows on other 3D objects, parts of the drop shadow no longer disappear in stripes when if the camera's focal point and the 3D object's placement are at a specific position.
After drawing with a brush that has Starting and ending or Post correction settings on a layer that has been moved with the Move layer sub tool, the canvas display update is no longer slower than a layer that has not been moved.
After using Edit menu > Transform commands on a raster layer or layer mask, or moving the area within a selection with the Move layer sub tool, if you use Undo and then Redo, the Redo is now also applied to content drawn outside the canvas.
If, immediately after drawing on a raster layer with a brush tool, you temporarily switch to the Object sub tool and move the layer, and then use Undo twice, parts of the drawing no longer shift.
After copying an animation cel and pasting it with Paste as file object, the content of the file object layer no longer disappears even when switching frames on the Timeline palette.
When opening a canvas with color profile preview enabled and using File menu > Revert, the color profile preview is now maintained.
When you use File menu > Revert on a canvas with color profile preview enabled, the correct color profile is now reflected in interfaces such as the Color Wheel palette.
(iPad / iPhone / Android) On devices with a keyboard connected, pressing the Enter or Esc key while using Move / Transform in Simple Mode no longer exits the transformation. After confirming the Move / Transform with a keyboard operation, you can use Filters and Effects.
(iPad / iPhone / Android) In Simple Mode, the color profile preview is now applied to the canvas displayed when using Menu > Canvas Settings > Change Canvas Size or Resize All.
(iPad / iPhone) Fixed an issue where unintended lines could be drawn immediately after switching applications.
(iPad / iPhone) Undo now works correctly while entering text on a text layer.

(Windows) Unnecessary lines without pen pressure detection are no longer caused when drawing quickly.
(Windows) In multiple-screen setups with Windows 11 KB5062553 applied, canvas scaling (pinch-in/out) now works on a pen display even when Touch gesture settings in Preferences is set to [Windows gestures].
(Windows) When Touch gesture settings in Preferences is set to [Windows gestures], the application now operates stably even if touch gestures are performed while drawing with a finger.
(macOS) When dragging and dropping a brush material from the Material palette to the Sub Tool palette, clicking Cancel in the progress dialog now cancels the process.
(iPad) On iPadOS 26 and later, the following key combinations can now be registered as shortcut keys:

(Android) On tablets, when editing a 3D layer in Simple Mode, after performing touch gestures on a smartphone using Companion Mode, button operations on the tablet now work correctly.
(Android) After double-tapping Open other files under Continue drawing in Clip Studio to open and close the File picker dialog, the Clip Studio screen can now be operated.
The application no longer crashes after performing operations such as duplicating a 3D character after replacing a 3D drawing figure or 3D character with a different one via drag-and-drop.
When Embed ICC profile is turned on in File menu > Special Export > Export webtoon, the RGB profile set in the New dialog, etc., is now embedded. For multi-page projects, the RGB profile set in the New dialog or Change project settings dialog is embedded in all pages.
(iPad / iPhone / Android) Enable wide color gamut has been added to Preferences > Color conversion. Turning this on for a wide-gamut display switches the entire Clip Studio Paint application to wide-gamut display.
(iPad / iPhone / Android) Puppet warp has been added to the Move / Transform tool in Simple Mode.

When registering pose materials from 3D drawing figures or 3D character materials set as sub-objects in a parent-child relationship, they are now registered based on their absolute position in the 3D space, unaffected by the parent's position.
When a ruler is shown on the canvas by selecting it in the Layer palette, the settings in the Tool Property and Sub Tool Detail palettes now update according to the ruler's visibility.
Undo now works reliably after double-clicking with the Control point sub tool.
When multiple mesh points are selected during Edit menu > Transform > Mesh Transformation, including the top-center mesh point, the rotation handle's orientation now remains fixed even when rotating the surrounding guide lines.
If Edit > Transform > Puppet warp is selected immediately after creating a selection and moving a layer with the Move layer sub tool, the transformation mesh will now be correctly created over the drawn area within the selection.
When inserting characters between strings that have ruby text (annotative glosses) or horizontal-in-vertical text using the Text list in the Tool Property or Sub Tool Detail palettes, the text settings are no longer split.

When dragging to toggle the visibility of items in the Object list in the Tool Property palette or Sub Tool Detail palette when a 3D layer is selected, intermediate items will now be toggled correctly.
The settings for the slowest speed are now shown on the left edge of the stroke preview in palettes such as the Sub Tool palette and Tool Property palette, and the settings for the fastest speed are shown on the right edge.
After replacing a 3D drawing figure with a 3D character, the canvas status will correctly be updated in the Object List even if you use Undo or Redo.
When setting up a parent-child relationship for a 3D drawing figure-Ver. 1 or certain 3D characters, the changes will be updated correctly even if the Attachment point is set to something other than Object origin, even if you use Undo or Redo on operations that duplicate the parent object.
Camera folders are no longer selected when using Select Previous 3D Object and Select Next 3D Object from the Object Launcher.
Text is now less likely to be cut off when Wrap text at frame is turned on in the Tool Property palette, Alignment is set to Right align or Bottom align, and Style is set to Italic.

Version 4.1.0 includes the following new features.
You can now adjust the orientation of the bounding box when using the Edit menu > Transform. This allows you to rotate the bounding box to match the object being transformed, for more control over scaling objects.
Delete layers has been added to the Layer menu. Select Empty layers to delete all layers with nothing drawn on them, or select Hidden layers to delete all hidden layers at once.
When a color profile preview is being used, the preview is now also reflected in color palettes such as the Color Wheel palette.
A Velocity settings graph has been added to the Dynamics settings in the Tool Property palette and Sub Tool Detail palette for drawing tools. You can now make the value increase with the speed of the stylus.

When you turn on the Normal map category in the Sub Tool Detail palette for a 3D primitive with 3D texture paint and setting Alpha in the Primitive category to Semi-transparent, the areas without texture paint are no longer transparent.
You can now use Undo after setting the Normal map category for a 3D primitive in the Sub Tool Detail palette.
Even if a 3D drawing figure or 3D character material with manga perspective enabled is placed behind the camera, the shadow of the 3D drawing figure or 3D character material can now appear on other 3D objects.
When editing a 3D layer after closing a canvas that was not edited using the Object sub tool, the object launcher will no longer move to the upper left, and the layers no longer moves when the 3D layer is dragged.
When you use Copy value to copy a brush tool setting with dynamics to another sub tool, only the available values of the dynamics settings will be reflected in the target sub tool. The type of dynamics setting is not changed.

When using Align/Distribute palette commands on an image material layer, the layer will no longer be positioned one pixel off the reference position.
When editing a cubic Bezier curve where only some control points are across a symmetry ruler, moving or transforming the line with the Object sub tool will not correspond to the other line, but moving the control points will move any symmetrical control points accordingly.
When selecting a vector or speech bubble with the Object sub tool and dragging the handle at the lower center of the bounding box, a line will no longer appear when moving it left or right to snap.
When an object is moved by dragging using the Object sub tool or the Edit menu > Transform commands, it no longer snaps to a position slightly off from the snap destination.
The position of control points near the edge of a line drawn on a vector layer has been adjusted. When a line drawn by Snap to symmetry ruler is moved with the Object sub tool, the symmetrical lines now align correctly.
You can now snaps objects and control points to rulers and special rulers on layers with Enable keyframes on this layer turned on in a canvas with a timeline.
When moving and snapping control points or Free Transform handles to the grid of a perspective ruler, they are no longer affected by the display magnification of the canvas.
Symmetrical vector lines remain linked when moving or transforming with the Object sub tool, even if the Brush Size of one of the vector lines drawn by snapping to a symmetrical ruler is changed.
When using the Object sub tool to drag and move or transform the bounding box of a speech bubble containing text, the text in the bubble no longer snaps to the previous position.
When the canvas size has been changed, you can still use the Object tool to drag and move a frame handle with an angle of 135° or more
When the canvas size has been changed, you can still use the Object tool to drag and transform a frame handle with a diagonal line into a shape that intersects the frame.
(iPhone / Android) On smartphones, you can use the Color Settings dialog correctly even if it is displayed while the Sub Tool Detail palette is shown from the edit bar.
(macOS / iPad / Android) Either canvas recovery or an auto-save of the file is now performed when opening the Story editor.
When the opacity of a 3D layer is lowered, the All sides view palette no longer reflects the opacity of the 3D layer.
When you use Reset transformation in the Watermark Settings dialog, the watermark will be centered on the page even if Batch Export is used for a project including pages of different sizes.

In Clip Studio’s Manage materials screen, if you select a material catalog from Downloaded Material Catalogs and then use Get latest information from Assets, the latest information will be downloaded even if there are more materials than the previous download.
(iPad / Android) On tablets, when a canvas is opened by executing Send to Clip Studio SHARE or Send to Clip Studio SHARE (webtoon) from the Clip Studio projects screen, if the canvas is already open then either canvas recovery or an auto-save of the file will be performed.
The following updates have been made.
When you use the Filter > Blur > Lens Blur, the effect will be applied properly even on areas where nothing is drawn.
When you use Edit menu > Transform, the reference point will move when you hold the Alt key and tap on the canvas.
When you use Edit menu > Transform > Rotate or change the Transformation Mode to Rotate when rotating an image material with the Object tool, you can now drag the reference point as intended.
When creating a closed area by dragging with a sub tool with the Input Process set to Lasso, such as Lasso or Lasso Fill, there is no longer a delay in response or misalignment when the operation starts.

Dragging a frame handle with the Object sub tool now moves the frame correctly if the canvas size is changed.

Puppet warp has been added to the Edit menu > Transform. Puppet warp creates a mesh over a selection. You can pin parts of the mesh to have more control over the adjustments.
You can now snap to other objects when moving or transforming vector layers, rulers, text, and more.

When a 3D layer is selected, you can now set the type of ambient light in the Light Source category of the Sub Tool Detail palette to Single-color light, File, Material, or Panorama. The shading of the 3D model will be adjusted according to the chosen image.
Rotation angle has been added to the Panorama category in the Sub Tool Detail palette when a 3D layer is selected. You can adjust the rotation angle of the panorama material.
In the Sub tool palette and Select sub tool dialog, you can now select multiple sub tools using the Ctrl key and Shift key.

In the New dialog, new presets for vertical videos and square video editing have been added in the Animation project type.
When you register a body shape material for a 3D drawing figure, the thumbnail will now show a 3D drawing figure reflecting the body shape.
When you register a full-body pose material for a 3D drawing figure, the thumbnail will now show the 3D drawing figure with the applied pose.
3D characters imported to a 3D layer can now be registered as 3D character materials. 3D character materials registered in Clip Studio Paint will be compatible with Ver. 4.0 and later. You can publish your own 3D characters on Clip Studio Assets. Materials downloaded from Assets and 3D characters imported to the canvas in versions earlier than Ver. 4.0 can be registered to the Material palette, but cannot be published to Clip Studio Assets.
In the New dialog, the Shueisha presets available when Show all comic settings is selected as the project type have been unified into one preset.
(iPad / iPhone / Android) In the New canvas dialog in Simple Mode, new presets for vertical videos and square video editing have been added in the Animation project type.
The size of the bounding box when selecting vectors with the Object sub tool has been changed to be based on the vector path. If the Mode in the Tool Property palette is set to Move control points & scale/rotate, the previous size of bounding box will be displayed. However, when enlarging or reducing, the corners of the bounding box will be based on the vector path.
The option to snap to the inner border has been removed from the Sub Tool Detail palette for shape tools such as the Figure tool. To snap to the edge of the canvas and the inner border, trim margin, and bleed border, enable snapping in Sub Tool Detail palette > Correction category, then turn on Snap to canvas edge/inner border in the View menu > Snap. Make sure that Snap frames to canvas edge/inner border is turned off. When creating a frame folder with the Comic tool > Frame Border group, you can also snap when Snap frames to canvas edge/inner border is turned on.
When the Object tool > Tool Property palette > Selection mode is set to Add to selection, tapping on a vector control point to select it will now only deselect of other control points, without deselecting other vector lines.
The name of the Snap setting in the Tool Property palette when selecting a ruler or special ruler with the Object sub tool has been changed to Snap lines to selected rulers.
The name of the Snap setting in the Tool Property palette when selecting a frame border folder with the Object sub tool has been changed to Snap lines to selected frame borders.
When snapping to a parallel curve ruler and drawing lines with a brush tool on a vector layer, it has become less likely for sharp control points to appear on smooth curve sections.
When Show field guides is turned on in the Sub Tool Detail palette of the Object sub tool, frames will now move when you move a layer mask.

Text will no longer appear outside the canvas when entering text in the Story Editor after inputting text with Vertical turned on and Circular text turned off, then deleting all text in the Story Editor, saving the file, and then opening it again with New text property in the Preferences dialog set to Copy from existing text.
(Windows) The following are no longer available under File > Export multiple pages: Export in Kindle format, Preview of exported Kindle data, Open export destination of Kindle format, and Export settings for Kindle format. You can export EPUB data for Kindle from File > Export multiple pages > Export EPUB data.
